Longarm Services
Whether you are a seasoned quilter or just finished your first quilt top - you've put in a lot of work. Let me help you with the next steps.
When your quilt top is ready for stitching, batting, backing and binding, Miller Genuine Craft is here to help! I will treat your quilt with love, respect and care - as if it were my own.
I believe that quilting should be joyful, not stressful. So if your seams don't line up perfectly or your borders are a little wonky, it's okay! I welcome every quilt with open arms and zero judgement.
My Process
After reviewing your Intake Form, I'll contact you with any questions or information I need. I will also give you an estimated cost for services.
After receiving your quilt top, I start by layering your backing, chosen batting, and quilt top on my longarm. Quilts are then stitched on my HandiQuilter Avante on a 12 foot frame. It can accommodate a king size quilt! I utilize ProStitcher for computerized, precise stitching. I offer both edge to edge(E2E) and custom quilting.
My preferred thread is OMNI by Superior Threads - it is strong, clean and bright. It was designed for high speed stitching, so there are fewer interruptions and broken stitches in my quilting. Thread and needles are included in the cost of your quilting services.
Finally, when your quilt is done, I return your creation to you with flat rate shipping so you can enjoy your newest masterpiece. I require payment in full before I ship your quilt or before you pick it up. For shipped quilts, I accept PayPal or Venmo. Local customers also have the option to pay by cash or check.
Stay inspired friends!
Design process
Quilting charges are based on cost per square inch. To calculate, multiply length x width in inches. (For example, a throw quilt measuring 50″ x 65″ is 3,250 square inches.)
Once you have calculated the area of your quilt, multiply that by the price per square inch. The quilting costs below include the cost of thread and needles.
There is a minimum charge of $50 for any project.

Custom quilting
Custom quilting costs are dependent on quilting design and range from $0.04 to 0.07 per square inch.
Custom designs can include individual block designs, stitch-in-the-ditch, outlining, or cross hatching. Many of these include marking, measuring and centering which is more time consuming but extremely enhancing to your quilt. A great choice for quilts to be treasured and loved a lot.
edge to edge (e2e) Quilting
E2E quilting is an allover design. The cost per square inch is $0.02.
My machine came with a built in digital design library. Feel free to look through the Pro-Stitcher designs here.

Thread

I prefer to quilt with OMNI thread from Superior Threads. Designed for quilting, OMNI has quickly become a favorite go-to thread for longarm quilters and quilt makers alike. This 40 wt. polyester thread is a cleaner, brighter, and stronger alternative to other poly-wrapped poly core threads, making it perfect for those who love quilt making. OMNI also has a more matte finish, to blend in to your quilt top. Available in a vast array of 172 solid colors (shown here), OMNI offers the perfect match for any quilt maker's color needs.
No preference for color? I will typically match the lightest fabric or use a neutral to blend beautifully. Or request a custom thread color. Sometimes the quilting just needs to stand out! You may also choose different colors for the top and back for a more custom look.
The choice is yours.
batting Options
You can supply your own batting or you can purchase batting from me. I stock 80/20 cotton/polyester ($12.99/yd.) and 100% cotton ($14.49/yd.).
special order
Other blends (Bamboo, Wool, etc.) are available for purchase but may add time to your quilt's turnaround time, due to shipping times.

Batting is a separate charge and is not included in the square inch pricing
finishing services
binding
I can also put binding on your quilt. Please include your uncut fabric (clearly labelled) for the binding with your quilt top - I will turn it into binding.
Machine sewing the binding to the front only is $0.15 per linear inch.
Sewing the binding to both the front and back is $0.20 per linear inch.

Trimming
I will trim your quilt to the edge if you would like. You can choose to have the remnants sent back to you or I can take care of them.
